1950's FORD BIRD TRUCK MASCOT / HOOD ORNAMENT M-51

FORD TRUCK HOOD BIRD ORNAMENT for year 1953-1956.  It is made of solid stainless steel.  The birds are not plated.  This is a reproduction.  It is a Ford truck hood ornament for all 100 thru 900 series 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956 Ford Trucks except Parcel Delivery.  It is modeled after the Hood Bird that was made only for the trucks and was a dealer installed accessory.   They were not put on at the factory so the originals are very rare.  The 1956 Ford Truck accessory booklet describes them like this: "Fleet-looking, distinctive design.  Adds a sparkling personal touch to your truck.  Sturdy die-cast construction, bright chrome finish. Easy to install.  Fits all models except Parcel Delivery.  part No. BAAA-18244-A."  The mounting holes are drilled and tapped to 1/4"-20 threads.  This is an individual piece.  There may be small differences between the pictures and the physical piece.  This adds to the exclusivity of this ornament.
